Open-World RPG Game of Thrones: Kingsroad Gets Massive Demo on Steam; PC Specs Revealed

Jaime Lannister in Game of Thrones: Kingsroad

Netmarble and Warner Bros. had a surprise today for fans of Game of Thrones in the form of a demo of the upcoming open-world RPG Game of Thrones: Kingsroad.

The demo for PC, launched on Steam as part of Steam Next Fest is actually rather massive, requiring a 30.4 Gigabytes download.

It’ll be available only for a limited time, until March 4 at 12:00 a.m. PST.

The announcement was accompanied by a trailer showing more of the game, which you can enjoy below.

The reveal also includes the minimum and recommended specs for PC, and they are as follows. If the demo is already quite demanding in terms of SSD space, the full game will double that requirement, while the rest of the specs aren’t crazy.

Interestingly, playing the demo will unlock some in-game rewards (highlighting the free-to-play nature of the game).

We start with login rewards on each day of availability, including a Long Night Outfit on day 1, 40 raffle tickets on day 2, an Uncommon Wolf Mount on day 3, 1,000 North Tokens on day 4, and 40 raffle tickets on day 5.

The raffle promises to provide a Steam Demo Celebration Special Gift for 10 winners, a Long Night Outfit to 30 winners, 1,000 Golden Dragons to 50 winners, and 100 Golden Dragoins to 300 winners.

You can get more raffle tickets by performing actions and beating content in the demo. The Special Gift will include a Wandering Crow Outfit, a Rare Horse mount, and more.

There will also be rewards depending on how many wishlists the game gets, 100,000 will grant 50,000 copper. 300,000 will grant the Night Watch Battle Supplies. 500,000 will grant a set of 3 emoticons. 700,000 will grant a Three-Eyed Raven profile background. One million wishlists will unlock an uncommon horse mount.

Game of Thrones: Kingsroad was initially announced only for iOS and Android, but after a few weeks, Warner Bros seemed to see the light and announced a PC version as well.

It’s a fully licensed game and it’ll feature many known characters from the TV series, including their actors’ likenesses.

If you want to see more, you can check out another trailer showing monsters, including Daenerys Targaryen’s dragon Drogon.
