Today, Arc Games and Snapshot Games officially announced that their highly anticipated fantasy tactical RPG, Frosthaven, is set to arrive for PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) on July 31, 2025, for the price of $39.99.
The upcoming dark fantasy tactical title serves as a spiritual successor to Gloomhaven, the fan-favorite 2021 board game turned PC RPG. Frosthaven will feature deep mechanics and challenging yet immensely satisfying gameplay both in single-player and co-op online multiplayer, while also being open and accessible to newcomers.
Anyone trying the game for the first time will be able to adjust difficulty modes tailored to their skill level. Improved UX and quality-of-life features will ensure all players can enjoy their experience. Explore a handful of new character classes, each with its own unique playstyles and abilities, while also balancing the risk and reward of each set of powers in accordance with the rest of your party.
As a group, you’ll also need to carefully manage resources throughout the campaign if you hope to survive, as the environments are rife with menacing enemies and diverse biomes. The early access version of Frosthaven is set to have about a third of the full content for the 1.0 release of the full game, with more content and gameplay improvements being added in three-month periods throughout this phase.
Currently, the game has eight unique characters, including six starting characters and two unlockable characters, more than 40 tactical quests, including in-depth tutorial missions, more than 100 choice-driven events, and the ability for players to build their own Outpost by constructing buildings and completing events, which will lead to unlocking new game features.
