Fortnite Simpsons Update Results in a Massive Intake of New & Old Players

Earlier this week, Epic Games officially welcomed The Simpsons into its hit battle royale, Fortnite, introducing the beloved animated series into the game as part of the latest season. Today, it was revealed that in just 48 hours since its release, the update has resulted in the biggest number of new and returning Fortnite players since last holiday season.

While Epic didn’t announce exact figures, Fortnite.gg.gg estimates that the battle-royale game hit around 2.7 million concurrent players. This would be the second-highest of all time, with Fortnite also holding the all-time record at 14.3 million in November 2024.

Alongside the rise in player count, the first Fortnite | The Simpsons short was also #1 on Disney+ Today in the US. A new animated short is set to release once a week to celebrate the season, with the schedule listed below:

Fortnite | The Simpsons season is a month-long event running from November 1 to November 29, 2025, as a special, shorter “mini-season” that features a Simpsons-themed map and Battle Pass, and will conclude with a live event to kick off the next main season. It introduces a new setting (Springfield Island), plenty of gags and gadgets known to the show, and premium outfits and rewards (Homer, Marge, Flanders, Blinky Fishstick, and Springfielder Peely).

The event also features account link and Twitch Drop rewards. You’ll be able to get the Kang and Kodos Glider by connecting your Epic and MyDisney accounts through Apps and Accounts before February 28, 2026 (EST), with it being placed in your Locker at some point before November 15.
