Fortnite has just dropped its Chapter Six Season One gameplay trailer for Battle Royale, showing off the map, skins, weapons, and the massive Godzilla (who’s definitely not on your side).
A few days ago, Fortnite teased the upcoming season’s battle pass, giving players a sneak peek at the theme. The Season, dubbed Hunters, is set in San Fransokyo, an area based on Tokyo and San Fransisco that’s technologically advanced.
Hunters is heavily centered around Japanese legends and history. The skins feature a samurai Baymax from Big Hero 6, samurais, ninjas, and Japanese folklore. Plus, the new map is full of gorgeous scenes you’d expect from a Japan-centered theme. These include picturesque countryside, city scenes, temples, and even a traveling turtle. San Fransisco’s influence can be seen in the game’s rendition of the Golden Gate Bridge.
That’s not all – several demons are waiting around the map. A samurai and an oni enemy were shown off, though there may be more if past seasons are anything to go by. Plus, the oni looks like it dropped a weapon that gives the player an oni mask. The mask appears to give the players fire power to launch at enemies along with jumping mechanics.
Godzilla was also in the teaser and gameplay trailer, but it stands apart from the other bosses and didn’t appear on the map, either. This could mean that Godzilla will be an event boss that the community will take down during the Season.
An adorable translucent blob back bling was shown off in multiple colors, and a sheath with a baby dragon on it was also shown off. Several swords and katanas as weapons were part of the trailer, too.
