Epic Games has released Fortnite Arenas Boxfights, a new Ranked game mode.
Fortnite Arenas Boxfights has a lobby of 16 people, either Solos or 8 Duo teams. The players will either fight one-versus-one (Solos) or two-versus-two (Duos) back to back. After one fight ends, the players are immediately put into a queue to go into another fight.
The first player to win 20 times (or Duo to win 15 times) takes the overall win.
This concept encourages quick gun battles, since the faster the fights are, the quicker a player/team can rack up the required wins. Plus, with only 16 players in a lobby, finding games will also be incredibly quick.
By playing Arenas Boxfights, players can earn XP with new Quests, along with a Builder’s Crest Back Bling and the Cracked Blueprint Spray. There are also new loadouts and new maps that come with Fortnite Arenas Boxfights.

This is a Ranked mode, though there is an Unranked mode where players can one-versus-one their friends (or anyone on the Showdown Leaderboard) by sending a “1v1 Me” invite. When played like this, the first to seven wins takes the overall win. Fortnite Arenas Boxfights is also a Build mode.

The Fortnite Arenas Boxfights launch comes after Epic Games laid off over 1,000 employees (which was almost 20% of the group’s workforce); announced the shutdown of modes like Rocket Racing, Ballistic, and Festival Battle Stage; and raised the price of Fortnite V-Bucks.
