While it’s a Sunday, flight simulation developers never stop delivering news and reveals, and today we get new information about both aircraft and scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Boeing 727-200 Freighter for Microsoft Flight Simulator Gets Release Date, Pricing, and Details
Today FlightSim Studio announced the release details of its upcoming Boeing 727-200 Freighter, including the date and pricing.
As mentioned on the developer’s Discord server, the aircraft will release to the public on August 6, with the first previews appearing online from a variety of content creators starting on August 1.
The price will be €40 or $42 depending on where you live.
The developer cautioned that the previously announced GNS-XLS won’t be included in the initial release in favor of an enhanced INS system. The GNS-XLS will be added in a future update likely 1-2 months later.
FSS promises a complex aircraft, simulated authentically with no “dumbing-down,” including a new 3D model built from the ground up and a custom spatial audio environment by @mariusz.
In terms of systems, you can expect the following:
Fully custom electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and other systems, with all of their many valves, bleeds, and safety mechanisms simulated. A fully functional flight engineer’s station to control all of these yourself.
The front two seats have all of the analog instrumentation you’d expect from an aircraft of the time, as well as a variety of navigation options – you can have a time-appropriate, custom-coded INS, or a much more modern GPS unit. A Sperry SP-150 autopilot, based on the Working Title codebase. Finally, the freighter cabin has all of its functionality simulated – from cabin-interactable doors to the controls for the main deck cargo door.

Schaumburg Regional Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator Released
Arif Studio released Schaumburg Regional Airport (06C) in the United States, one of the many airports of the veritable galaxy in the greater Chicago area.
It’s available on Simmaket for $13.24, including the following features.
- Meticulous attention to detail with realistic PBR textures
- Atmospheric night lighting.
- Use of actual photographs for maximum realism
- Modeling of notable VFR landmarks such as the water tower to the East and Sport Center to the West.
- Inclusion of an aviation air show , or ‘Fly-in’, in this version of the scenery, allowing pilots to taxi around vintage aircraft
- Cold and dark starts available at various ramps and inside the FBO hangar and other various hangars.
Ohio River Central for Microsoft Flight Simulator Released
RKBridger released a package of 60 bridges covering the central section of the Ohio River between Pittsburgh and Cincinnati.
It’s currently available on Simmarket for $18.97.
