Today Square Enix announced the release date for PC of its latest mainline Final Fantasy game, Final Fantasy XVI.

The game will launch very soon, on December 17, on both Steam and the Epic Games Store.

To further sweeten the deal, a demo is already available, and you can find both on Steam and on Epic’s storefront. The demo is the same one released before the PS5 version, with the opening chapter of the game playable and saves that will transfer to the final game.

After completing the prologue, players will also be able to enjoy the “Eikonic Challenge” which provides a taste of Final Fantasy XVI’s combat.

Interestingly, the DLC released on PS5 will be released at the same time as the main game. You can get Final Fantasy XVI on its own for $49.99 or the Complete Edition with both Echoes of the Fallen and The Rising Tide for $69.99

The Season Pass that comes with the Complete Edition includes the following bonuses:

If you buy the game early, by October 17, you can also get the following items.

If you’re unfamiliar with Final Fantasy XVI, it’s the latest mainline game of the Final Fantasy franchise, created under the wing of producer Naoki Yoshida, the popular director and producer of Final Fantasy XIV.

While it retains many of the usual trappings of the series, it comes with a rather refined action battle system and a darker, more mature story.
