Today Square Enix announced the release date of the upcoming update 7.3 for Final Fantasy XIV.
The update will launch on Tuesday, August 8, 2025, on the live servers. It’s titled “The Promise of Tomorrow.”
It’ll include new main scenario quests, plenty of new sidequests, a new dungeon titled “The Meso Terminal,” a new treasure dungeon, the Yok Huy alliend society quests, the continuation of the Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures, and more.
Perhaps the largest piece of content included in the update will be the new Alliance raid Echoes of Vana’diel – San d’Oria: The Second Walk, inspired by Final Fantasy XI.
All these features were showcased in a trailer showcased at the beginning of today’s Letter from the Producer Live 88 broadcast, and you can watch it below. As usual with this kind of trailer, it includes footage that could be considered mild story spoilers, so watch it at your own risk.
Incidentally, the trailer below includes English voice overs. If you’d rather enjoy the Japanese ones, you can find them on the official YouTube channel.
If you’d like to read more about update 7.3, you can check out our recap of the previous Letter from the Producer Live, which provided the first details. More will be shared later today.
If you’re unfamiliar with Final Fantasy XIV, it’s currently available for PC, PS5, PS4, and Xbox Series X|S.
Incidentally, Final Fantasy XIV is one of the pillars of Square Enix’s game lineup, and its recurring revenue does wonders to keep up its otherwise shaky financials.
