As usual, Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida and Global Community Producer Toshio Murouchi provided all the relevant news during the livestream.

First of all, we learn that the title will be “Seekers of Eternity” and the patch will come in Late March 2025. As usual, the actual release date will be released in the next Letter from the Producer Live.

Yoshida-san started the livestream by mentioning that in update 7.2, Square Enix will take care of the issue that allowed a plugin to detect everyone’s alt characters.

We start by taking a look at the new story content coming with the patch, involving some familiar characters.

A new Allied society for disciples of the land will be implemented, the Mamool Ja.

Hildibrand is returning with Inconceviably Further Hildibrand Adventures.

We get a small side questline, the Conservant.

The new tomestones coming with the update are named Allagan Tomestones of Mathematics. We also learn that the Sunken Temple of Quarn is getting Duty Support.

For PvP fans, series 8 will begin and there will be action adjustments (for PvE as well) with several new PvP actions added. And an improved version of Frontline (Secure) is returning. You can check it out below.

The new dungeon is titled The Underkeep. It’s worth mentioning that the lighting in the screenshots is not final.

We’re also getting a new raid chain of the Arcadion, the Cruiserweight Tier in both normal and savage versions.

A new trial named Recollection is also coming in normal and extreme versions.

The new Unreal Triel is Hell’s Kier (Unreal).

Next, we move on to the new large-scale content which will arrive in 7.2, starting with the Cosmic Exploration. It’s a new community activity for crafters and gatherers (like Ishgard Restoration) that will evolve throughout the 7.X series.

We’ll nurture the development of the planet by completing events and missions as a community. There will be a base being built and transportation via ziplines. While this is meant to be done as a community, solo players will still be able to enjoy it.

More details will come in the next livestream, but we do get a lot of teasing screenshots. Incidentally, there is more than one planet to enjoy.

The next is Occult Crescent, content more in line with Eureka and Bozja. It’s an island in the Shades’ Triangle where players will explore, fight enemies including battles against minibosses for small groups, large-scale boss battles, and a raid involving up to 48 players.

You’ll need a job at level 100 to enter and you’ll raise your Knowledge level as you explore, greatly influencing the outcome of battles. The content will introduce Phantom Jobs that you can equip granting you abilities on top of these you have with your main job.

For instance, Warriors can equip Monk and receive Phantom Kick and Occult Counter to improve their offensive capabilities or Bard to improve their support power with Phanto m March.

Phantom Jobs revealed so far are Geomancer, Ranger, Berserker, Time Magem Chemist, and Canoneer, but there will be more.

We then hear that relic weapon enhancement for the 7.x chain of patches will be done by exploring the Occult Crescent or Engaging with existing activities.

Moving on to collaborations, here’s a super cute camera emote in collaboration with instax, the instant camera by Fujifilm. It’ll be introduced with patch 7.18 on February 25 and there will also be a screenshot sweepstakes on X to celebrate. You can check out the emote below.

We also hear that the Echoes of Vana’diel Discount campaign will offer Final Fantasy XIV players a discounted subscription for FFXI for 30 days. The collaboration with BlackMilk on top of one with a Japanese brand of chips were also mentioned.

Final Fantasy XIV is currently available for PC, PS5, PS4, and Xbox Series X|S. The latest expansion, titled “Dawntrail” was released in early July 2024.

The game is one of the pillars of Square Enix’s production and does wonders for its financials, as revealed earlier today.
