Today marked the first day of the dedicated Fan Festival for the Chinese version of Final Fantasy XIV, hosted in Guangzhou.
While Square Enix couldn’t drop massive reveals during an event that most of the game’s worldwide audience won’t watch, Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida still had a few goodies to share during a stage event.
First of all, we get to see the first screenshot of Futures Rewritten (Ultimate), the super-challenging version of the Eden raid from the Shadowbringers era that many players know and love.
You can see it below, shared by Square Enix itself on its BiliBili portal.
Next, we get two pieces of concept artwork (captures from the livestream courtesy of Reddit user MrCombineSoldier) of “Cosmic Exploration,” which promises to be massive crafting/gathering content set on a whole planet, similar to what we enjoyed a few years ago with the Ishgardian Restoration.
Last, but not least, while images were not shown, we heard the name of the new Field Operation that will come within the Dawntrail cycle and will be similar to Eureka and Bozja. It’s “Occult Crescent.”
Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait longer to hear and see more about the content discussed today, but these are certainly some interesting teases.
Final Fantasy XIV is currently available for PC, PS5, PS4, and Xbox Series X|S. The new expansion, titled “Dawntrail” was released earlier this month, and you can read more about it in our article discussing its main character, Wuk Lamat.
Recently, Square Enix also released update 7.05 and announced the new Moonfire Faire summer event.
Speaking of China, a mobile game titled Final Fantasy XIV: Crystal World was approved by the local authorities earlier this week.
