Today, during a panel at PAX West, Square Enix showcased a couple of interesting screenshots that will likely prove exciting for Final Fantasy XIV fans.
During the livestreamed presentation, hosted by UI Designer Kei Odagiri, we got to see the first look at the chat bubbles the development team is currently experimenting with.
The screenshot was welcomed warmly by the audience, as the feature has ranked high on the fans’ wishlist for a long time.
While Odagiri-san mentioned that actual implementation will take some more time and there still are “a few hurdles to overcome”
He also showcased another interesting screenshot focusing on the White Board of Strategy Board promised during one of the keynotes of the recent round of Fan Festivals.
Odagiri-san apologized for showing it in Japanese, as it was added to the panel’s schedule at the last moment. It’s intended to help groups discuss strategies ahead of encounters, and it’s planned for implementation during the 7.X patch cycle. This will also take some more time before it makes it into the live game.
