Final Fantasy XIV Update 7.2  “Seekers of Eternity” Release Date Announced

Final Fantasy XIV Update 7.2 Key Art

Today Square Enix announced the release date of the upcoming update 7.2 for Final Fantasy XIV, titled “Seekers of Eternity.”

The update will launch on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, on the live servers, and it’s going to be a massive one, so it’ll require am equally massive 24-hour-long maintenance.

It’ll include new main scenario quests, plenty of new sidequests, a new dungeon titled “The Underkeep,” a new raid quest chain of the Arcadion, the Cruiserweight Tier, a new trial, and much more.

Among the main features of the update there will be the new massive crafting community activity named “Cosmic Exploration” and the “Occult Crescent,” which is similar in concept to Eureka and Bozja, but with its own rules and features. These will actually come in sub-patches following the main one.

All these features were showcased in a trailer showcased at the beginning of today’s Letter from the Producer Live 86 broadcast, and you can watch it below. As usual with this kind of trailer, it’s slightly spoiler-driven, so watch it at your own risk.

The trailer embedded above is in English. If you’d like to watch it with the Japanese voice-overs, you can find it on the official YouTube channel.

If you want to read more about the update, you can check out our report from the previous Letter from the Producer Live, which introduced quite a few of the new features and plenty of content.

Final Fantasy XIV is currently available for PC, PS5, PS4, and Xbox Series X|S. The latest expansion, titled “Dawntrail” was released in early July 2024.

The game is one of the pillars of Square Enix’s lineup and does wonders for its otherwise shaky financials, as revealed a few weeks ago.
