Square Enix is collaborating with Swiss luxury watchmaker Franck Muller for a set of Final Fantasy XVI watches that most fans won’t be able to afford (and arguably, most money-savvy fans won’t even try to afford)

The watches, belonging to Franck Muller’s “Vanguard” collection, will be released on Wednesday, March 5. Four models will be available.

The “Ifrit” model in black, the “Phoenix” model in black and red, and the “Bahamut” model in black and white will all be limited to 16 units worldwide each. They come with automatic movement, a 53.7mm x 44mm stainless steel case, and a strap in crocodile and rubber, and they cost… 2,860,000 yen. If you’re wondering, that’s just north of $19,000 at the current exchange rate.

The last model in full white, titled “Final Battle” will actually be limited to a single unit worldwide and will be available sometime in the spring. The main difference is the manual winding tourbillon movement and the price, which is a mindboggling 30,800,000 yen. That’s $205,500 at the current exchange rate.

Each watch comes with an accompanying print featuring new artwork portraying the corresponding character by character designer Kazuya Takahashi, and the buyer of the Final Battle model gets all three prints.

Below you can check out a video introducing the Final Fantasy XVI watches and a few images including both the watches and the artwork.

The press release included a comment from Vartan Sirmakes, founder of Franck Muller, who mentions the company aims to create watches that make people dream. Personally, they simply make me feel poor, but at least the artwork is cool, so fans who don’t have extreme amounts of disposable income can enjoy that, I suppose.

Final Fantasy XVI is currently available for PS5 and PC.
