Fast Food Simulator, a solo- and multi-player sim from No Ceiling Games that was released last month, has addressed players, explaining why there’s been a lack of updates while also explaining a few things on the developers’ minds.

The developers explained that December was a very busy month — not only did the sim release, but the newly founded developers had several legal things to do. Additionally, they expanded the team and had to learn how to work together effectively.

Several of the things that were meant to be done in December got pushed to January. Because of this, updates have been incredibly slow.

However, new content is on the way. While there’s no release date for the next update yet, developers did release a sneak peek at it. A Refilling Soda Machine is coming to the game. It uses soda syrups to free up the time players spend filling drinks up.

Additionally, the Market and Computer UI has been redone. These are meant to be more clear and more aesthetically pleasing than before.

Other things that are at the forefront of developers’ minds are new AI workers, controller support, crossplay, and changing Steam artwork.

Fast food restaurants are (hopefully) busy. AI workers help keep work streamlined, especially during solo games. While there are a few AI workers now, developers are looking to add a few more hands on deck.

Full controller support is currently on the roadmap, but it’s not being worked on at this moment. However, if and when controllers can be supported seamlessly, then cross-platform will be next.

Fast Food Simulator also wanted to address its use of AI in the game’s art on Steam. While AI wasn’t used for any of the in-game assets, it was used for the artwork on Steam because it was cost-effective for No Ceiling Games.

However, after the success of Fast Food Simulator, there are plans to hire an actual artist for future updates. Unfortunately, this will take time — developers still don’t have their earnings for the game from Steam yet.
