Today, Giants Software released a new add-on coming for Farming Simulator 25, and it’s going to be completely free.
The package, named Precision Farming 3.0, adds six machines and new features. It’ll launch at the affordable price of $0 on May 8, 2025.
This is actually the continuation of a project financed by the European Union to promote sustainable farming technology. The previous versions, downloaded over 5 million times, were released respectively for Farming Simulator 19 and Farming Simulator 22.
Due to popular demand, Giants intends to continue to expand the project in the future.
The machines included in the package are “the John Deere R975i trailed field sprayer and the HAWE body swap system, which lets you use trailer bodies like the Wienhoff 25.200 PTW Profi Line slurry tanker. Additionally, existing sprayers can be retrofitted with Trimble WeedSeeker2 sensors for smart spot spraying of weeds.”
In terms of new features, we’ll get Tramlines, Subsidies, Pulse Width Modulation, and Section Control.
Tramlines help guide machinery along predetermined tracks on the ground, enabling precise field management and crop growth. On the other hand, when you plant catch crops like oilseed radish, you’ll get subsidies like in real farming to make nitrogen-saving planting more attractive as opposed to conventional fertilizing.
Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) lets you adjust fertilizer output by sending rapid bursts of fluid instead of continuous streams, achieving smoother application, greater efficiency, and reduced environmental impact.
Automatic Section Control activates or deactivates implement sections at specific field locations, so fertilizer or crop protection is applied only where you need it.
All the features of previous versions will also be included as follows: Soil Types, Soil Sampling, Environmental Assessment, Economic Analysis and Yield Maps, Crop Sensors, and Variable Rate Applications.
