Last Tuesday, GIANTS Software released the latest interaction in its hit agricultural simulation series. Today, they’ve announced that in its first week alone, Farming Simulator 25 has already become the fastest-selling title in the franchise, selling over 2 million copies worldwide in just seven days.
Farming Simulator 22 held the record before the newest release, boasting 1.5 million copies sold in the same timeframe. Farming Simulator 25 also topped the Steam charts for November 12, 2024, with more than 125,000 concurrent users, which increased by 10,000 to over 135,000 on the first weekend.
When commenting on the success, GIANTS Software Head of Publishing Boris Stefan complimented the community, “Their enthusiasm and support is not only at the heart of our success, but a driving force behind our continued commitment to delivering an unparalleled and satisfying farming experience. The launch was just the start for FS25.”
Originally released in 2008, the series has been a big success in the simulation genre, having sold over 25 million copies combined and had 90 million mobile downloads. The game is so popular that it even established an Esports league in 2019, which consisted of 3v3 matches to obtain the highest score of hay bales dropped off within a given time limit.
Farming Simulator 25 will continue to receive updates and improvements through new updates, as the developers stated they’ll be listening to community feedback so as to be able to implement proper patches and add in new machines based on demand. A hands-on test of user-creations is being done by GIANTS Software for community creations, and mods are also going to be released regularly as a part of the in-game ModHub.
So far, there’s already a farm load of content planned for Year 1 of Farming Simulator 25, including machine packs, new areas, and much more. It is available now on PC, Mac, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, starting at a price of $49.99.
