Earlier this year, Fantasy Life I: The Girl Who Steals Time accomplished an incredible 500k copies sold in just five days. Today, Level5 revealed the cozy RPG ended the year on an even higher note, as it has now crossed the 1.5 million copies sold threshold.
Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time places players into an open world, allowing them to create a character and freely switch between 14 unique jobs, aka “Lives,” and enjoy a carefree life in a fantasy world. Each job has its own characteristics and provides various ways to enjoy yourself, ranging from collecting ingredients or materials with Gathering Lives, creating weapons or cooking dishes with Crafting Lives, or fighting monsters with Combat Lives.
As players progress, they’ll be able to gather materials and restore the island to its former glory, alter the landscape, draw rivers and roads, and much more to create a unique version of their own island. You’ll also be able to experience plenty of stories and form various relationships with the NPCs that make up the community.
The RPG serves as a sequel to Fantasy Life, a 3DS game first released in 2012 and later worldwide in 2014. Fans have been waiting for the release of Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time for quite a while, as it was originally supposed to release in 2023, but it was pushed back several times before landing on a May 21 release date.
