Fanatec just released a steering wheel for racing simulators inspired by a concept car that should be very familiar to fans of Gran Turismo 7, the Porsche Vision GT.

The CSL Elite Steering Wheel Porsche Vision GT wheel is available now at Fanatec’s own store for $439.99 or €349.95, depending on where you live.

Of course, it’s officially licensed and comes with the famous Porsche shield right in the middle. The diameter is 310 mm, and it’s made in cast aluminum with Tactaris materials on the grip areas.

On the wheel, you can find eight push buttons, a tuning menu button, an OLED display for said menu and telemetry, magnetic shifters, and seven rotary encoders (including two multi-position switches and a 7-way FunkySwitch).

It’s compatible with the following wheel bases by Fanatec.

  • CSL Elite Wheel Base (QR1 Wheel-Side required)
  • CSL Elite Wheel Base V1.1 (QR1 Wheel-Side required)
  • CSL Elite Wheel Base + – officially licensed for PS4™ (QR1 Wheel-Side required)
  • CSL DD
  • Gran Turismo DD Pro Wheel Base
  • ClubSport Wheel Base V2 (QR1 Wheel-Side required)
  • ClubSport Wheel Base V2.5 (QR1 Wheel-Side required)
  • ClubSport DD
  • ClubSport DD+
  • PODIUM Wheel Base DD1
  • PODIUM Wheel Base DD1 PS4
  • PODIUM Wheel Base DD2

Of course, it’s compatible with PC, PS5, and PS4. While you could say it’s ideal for Gran Turismo 7, it works with any simulator on PC and PlayStation. Do keep in mind that for PlayStation compatibility, it needs to be combined with a base that is also compatible with Sony’s consoles.

If you’re unfamiliar with the Porsche Vision GT, it’s the first concept car created by the German manufacturer exclusively for a racing simulator. It was announced in December 2021 at the Gran Turismo World Series‘ finals just before the release of Gran Turismo 7 in March 2022.

Its iconic status was set in stone by its appearance on the simulator’s cover.

The Vision GT concept has always been a very interesting one in the world of Sim Racing, as it involves a variety of prestigious (some more, some less, I suppose) car manufacturers designing concept cars directly for the simulator, merging real-world design and virtual application.

Below you can enjoy a couple of videos showing the wheel off, and some official images.
