Indie studio Hibernian Workshop launched the Kickstarter campaign for its 2D action RPG, Fallen Fates, and within 48 hours, it raised over $100,000.

At the time of writing this, the Kickstarter for Fallen Fates still has 27 days left, and it’s raised over $130,000. The goal was to reach €100,000 (approximately $117,000), and it hit several milestones quickly. €20,000 (roughly $23,000) was raised in the first hour alone, with that jumping to €50,000 (roughly $58,000) in the first six hours.

The original funding goal was €100,000, though there are at least three funding-related stretch goals planned. However, only one has been revealed. At €130,000 (roughly $153,000), more original tracks from star composer Motoi Sakuraba (Tales of series, Star Ocean, Dark Souls, and more) will be added.

There are also social goals that include things like Kickstarter followers, Discord members, and followers on X and Steam. These rewards are on a point-based system that unlocks things like wallpapers, Discord emojis, manga panels, and even a DLC (which has already been unlocked).

Fallen Fates follows the story of Arven, a ranger fighting Shadows, and Kat, a magical being that merges with Arven. Arven is being voiced by Ben Starr (Clive Rosefield in Final Fantasy XVI and Verso in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33), while Kat is being voiced by Debra Wilson (Cere Junda in the Star Wars Jedi series and Savathûn in Destiny 2).

The 2D action RPG features a range of traversal and combat mechanics between Arven and Kat. Players can see a it in action in the Kickstarter trailer below:

Hibernian Workshop estimates that the game will be released in 2028 on PC and consoles, though it hasn’t been made clear yet which consoles will get the game.
