Not everyone knows that, if you’re into military flight simulators, Falcon BMS offers an extremely affordable and great option, but the developers of the Falcon 4.0 mod just showcased once again why you shouldn’t underestimate it.
Update 4.38 is about to be released, and it comes with a ton of really impressive new features and content. A trailer released today shows what you can expect.
It includes the new terrain and atmospheric engines, the new ground movement engine, shelters and hangars added as new 3D assets, the new cockpits for the F-16 and the F-15C, the new AI aircraft models, new theaters of war, new airbase, the improvement ability for SAMs and AAA to track and engage targets, and the updated UI alongside the new communications ring.
You can check it out below.
If you’re unfamiliar with Falcon BMS, it’s a free mod by Benchmark Sims for the venerable Falcon 4.0 by MicroProse.
If you consider that the original simulator launched in 1998, you can likely understand why I find what you saw above so impressive.
The reason why it’s such an affordable option compared, for instance, to DCS World, is that the mod is free and you just need a legitimate copy of Falcon 4.0, which is currently 20% off on Steam for only $11.99.
The level of the simulation is extremely high (which means that you’ll need to study quite a bit to master it), and it offers a great dynamic campaign.
The update should be available for download in the next couple of days.
