Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members are getting two F-Zero games for the Game Boy Advance emulator later this month, F-Zero – GP Legend and F-Zero Climax.
These two F-Zero titles are more than just futuristic racing games (though they excel at being that, too). F-Zero – GP Legend has a story mode featuring eight characters, including good guys like Captain Falcon and bad guys like Black Shadow.
The Game Boy Advance title was released alongside an anime with the same name, F-Zero: GP Legend.
The second title coming, F-Zero Climax, was previously only released in Japan. For the first time, the rest of the world is getting the unique F-Zero title.
One of the things that stands out about F-Zero Climax is its track editor mode. Players are able to make and save custom tracks, racing on them themselves or watching AI racers take the tracks on. Players could also share tracks with friends using a Game Link Cable or a password after making the track.
F-Zero Climax also has ties to the F-Zero: GP Legend anime. After completing different survival challenges, players would get episode summaries and character biographies. Considering there wasn’t a Story Mode in Climax, this was how players learned the characters and story of the franchise.
These F-Zero additions join several other F-Zero titles on Nintendo Switch Online. These include F-Zero 99, F-Zero X, and F-Zero Maximum Velocity.
Both F-Zero – GP Legend and F-Zero Climax will hit Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack on October 11. Players can view the trailer featuring both games below:
