Today Archetype Entertainment and Wizards of the Coast revealed the gameplay of their upcoming game Exodus.
While this is a gameplay reveal, it’s mixed with cutscenes, so you also get a glimpse of the story, which is always a good thing for a game with Exodus’ pedigree.
I mentioned pedigree and Archetype Entertainment certainly has some known names among its staff, including the studio head James Ohlen, knowing for leading the design of BioWare classics like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Dragon Age: Origins.
The co-founder of the studio is Chad Robertson, previously Head of Technology at BioWare on projects like Anthem, Mass Effect: Andromeda, and Star Wars: The Old Republic.
The team was founded in 2019 in Austin, Texas, under the Wizards of the Coast umbrella.
Exodus, which was announced at The Game Awards in 2023, is defined as a “sci-fi action-adventure role-playing game” and it promises player choice to have a big impact on how the story progresses.
It’ll have plenty of companions to interact with and even your own ship to master.

It’s coming for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Incidentally, it’s among the games that received an episode in the animated shorts series Secret Level on Amazon Prime Video. The episode titled “Exodus: Odyssey” was released today within the second drop which also includes Mega Man, Spelunky, and more.
