EVO’s main stage features plenty of competitive fighting game spectacle, but it also traditionally comes with news for several games.
We start with Cygames’ Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, which will receive a new character on September 17, and it’s Id from Granblue Fantasy Relink.
He will be accompanied by a new stage and update 2.60, on top of new and adjusted system mechanics, tweaks to characters, a new costume, and more.
Yet, that’s not all, because on the same day, Cygames will release the game on a new platform, the Nintendo Switch 2.
Moving on to Guilty Gear Strive, EVO 2026 had a new character in store, Robo-Ky, which will be the second of Season Pass 5 for Arc System Works’ popular fighting game.
He’ll release on July 2, 2026.
French Bread also revealed a new character for Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes, and it’s Zohar, a speed-type character who excels in close-quarters combat and links with a doppleganger that mimics her own moves.
She is coming out in summer 2026.
Perhaps unexpected was the reveal of a new character for the venerable BlazBlue Centralfiction, which is now 11 years old.
Trinity Glassfile, who can be seen below, will come at a time yet to be disclosed.
Lastly, we get to see the Scenario Battle mode of Virtua Fighter Crossroads, which is certainly peculiar, as it’s built to mix fighting game mechanics with the freedom of movement of action-adventure games.

Of course, EVO 2026 is not finished, and there is one more day left. You can expect to read all the news from the tournament’s Sunday tomorrow here on Simulation Daily.
