Today, Euro Truck Simulator 2 developer SCS Software officially released update 1.55 with new features and content.
The update, which has been in beta for a couple of weeks, follows the release of the parallel update on American Truck Simulator, which happened a few days ago.
The Driving Academy is getting an additional Truck Driving Proficiency Test, which includes some scenarios that involve additional conditions for passing and will prove very challenging for aspiring drivers.
On the other hand, they let you earn 3 collectable stars depending on how well you do, and they will net you new rewards.
Asynchronous loading is also a big new addition in terms of technology, while the FH Tuning Pack DLCÂ got a significant update.
The “Vive la France!” DLC is getting custom city intros for every city in France with an ownable garage
The mail menu is getting a redesign, while the graphics options will have new dedicated screenshots to make the choice more intuitive.
The map is getting a small quality-of-life improvement with a hotkey that centers it on your position, while Steam Achievements are being shifted to a new system.

The refresh of the Scandinavia DLC (of which you can enjoy the city of Aarhus) is in the works alongside the Nordic Horizons DLC, of which you can check out the landscapes, landmarks, the city of Oulu, the churches, the lakes of Finland, more roadside landmarks, and the town of Andenes.
Speaking of reworks, the BeNeLux region is also getting a refresh, and we recently saw the port of Rotterdam.
Last, but not least, an Iceland DLC has been announced a few weeks ago, providing a definitely unique environment for the simulator..
The Nordic Horizons DLC should be the first to come, although a release date has not been announced. SCS Software tends to reveal release dates only a few days before they actually happen.
