SCS Software revealed the first images of the upcoming refresh of its Scandinavia DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2.
This project was announced a few weeks ago, and it involves a fresh coat of paint for the region portrayed by the DLC, which is one of the oldest released for the game. As such, it did need said coat of paint.
It’s relevant now because the Nordic Horizons DLC is coming soon, and this will help the bordering Scandinavia not feel too antiquated in comparison.
Specifically, today we take a look at the road network of the DLC starting from the junctions. Originally, they felt very similar because they were built with prefab pieces. They have now been replaced with custom, unique junctions based on real-life layouts.
In today’s gallery, we get to see both Denmark and Sweden. Not only do the images showcase the roads and junctions in the two countries all the way down to the German border, but we also see remade truck stops, gas stations, and even the ruins of a castle.
You can find all the screenshots below.

If you’re unfamiliar with Euro Truck Simulator 2, it’s a truck-driving simulator available exclusively for PC. Recently, version 1.54 has been released.
That being said, some features of update 1.55 are already being tested, on top of a new Asynchronous Loading feature that should reduce stutters and improve smoothness. It’s worth mentioning that this is not the official beta of version 1.55, which is likely to come at a later date.
At the moment, we don’t yet have a release date for the Scandinavia refresh or for the Nordic Horizons DLC, but you can check out its landscapes, landmarks, the city of Oulu, the churches, the lakes of Finland, more roadside landmarks, and the town of Andenes.
We have recently learned about the rework in the works for the Benelux region, which is one of the many projects currently in the works.
