Late last February, SCS Software released the open beta version of update 1.54 for Euro Truck Simulator 2. Today, the full update for the hit driving simulator was officially released.
The update is identical to the one released for Euro Truck Simulator 2’s sister game, American Truck Simulator, which came out last week. There are a lot of quality-of-life improvements and feature changes coming alongside the patch, including a full cargo system redesign.
Now, cargo and trailers will automatically merge simplified rules, as each cargo is assigned its own model, loading methodology, and lashing method. Not only is it much more efficient, but it also saves on drive space, opening up the possibilities for cargo loading and unloading.
The truck adjustment menu has been streamlined, saving keyboard and controller users time while making the UI more user-friendly and intuitive. PhysX by Nvidia has also been implemented, enabling better collision detection and improving overall physics based on feedback from the beta. The old system, Bullet, will remain an option for those who prefer it.
The driving academy gets a fair amount of new toys, adding the Volvo FH Series 5, Volvo FH Series 6, and Iveco S-Way to its list of testable vehicles and some new rewards. Anyone who has completed or will complete the entire first module gets a hanging blue traffic cone cabin accessory and a customizable Driving Academy paint job for your truck.
