Today, SCS Software released another new truck for its popular sim, Euro Truck Simulator 2, the DAF XF Electric. ù
As usual with a new truck, the DAF XF Electric will be free for all users of the game. You just need to grab it on Steam.
It has a 4×2 chassis configuration and it’s equipped with a PACCAR EX-D2 electric motor powered by five battery packs delivering a whopping 525 kWh. It’s capable of impressive acceleration and speed while remaining quiet and smooth.
For the moment, its use is limited to Quick Jobs with a maximum range of 350 km, because the world of the game still doesn’t have the necessary infrastructure to support electric vehicles.
The developers are hard at work implementing the charging stations, but for now, if you run out of battery during a Quick Job, you can use the emergency recharging service is available for a fee.
You can see what the DAF XF Electric looks like below.
If you’re unfamiliar with Euro Truck Simulator 2, it’s a truck-driving simulator available for PC, but PS5 and Xbox versions have been recently announced. The PC version has recently been updated to version 1.56.
The development team is hard at work updating the map, starting with the Benelux region’s rework, of which we recently saw the port of Rotterdam and the city of Brussels. Another rework has been teased for the UK.
A refresh of the Scandinavian DLC is also coming, of which you can enjoy the city of Aarhus, Motorway 16 in Denmark, and Copenhagen.
That’s designed to go with the Nordic Horizons DLC, of which you can check out its gameplay reveal, on top of the landscapes, landmarks, the city of Oulu, the churches, the lakes of Finland, more roadside landmarks, the town of Andenes, Kiruna, and its famous wooden church.
The Iceland DLC was announced a few weeks ago, and you can enjoy additional screenshots, in addition to its churches, and the Ring Road.
Another interesting DLC will bring Coaches into the game, and we recently saw its bus stations and the Scania Touring.
