SCS Software has released the 1.57 update for Euro Truck Simulator 2, bringing new content, HDR support, and plenty more.
To start with, the Scandinavia DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2 was updated. The ten-year-old DLC has been refreshed, bringing it up to par with the state of the sim as it is now. Some of the changes are as follows:
- Updated textures, assets, and natural environment
- New rest stops and gas stations
- Overhaul of the road network with custom-designed junctions
- New cities, including Aarhus, Denmark, and Karlstad, Sweden
- Rebuilt Copenhagen
The Special Transport DLC is also getting two new cargoes to test the skills of players. These are a massive wind turbine blade, which is a 30-meter load that needs a four-axle steerable trailer. The contract is available from Rostock to Berlin (Germany) and from Jyväskylä to Vaasa in the upcoming Nordic Horizons DLC.
The other cargo is the underground loader, which requires a six-axle low loader trailer. Its contract is available from Dortmund to Hannover and from Narvik to Kiruna in the upcoming Nordic Horizons DLC.
The Krone Trailer Pack DLC is also getting new configurations and visual improvements. There are now city versions of the Kone trailers that have steerable axles. These include the Profi Liner City, Cool Liner City, Dry Liner City, and Pro Liner HCT.
It also added other body variants, along with a new design for the Profi Liner building variant.
The Scania R & S series of trucks is also being overhauled. Super engines (420-560 horsepower) and V8 powertrains (590, 660, 770 horsepower) are coming with Opticruise G23, G33, and G38 transmissions.
There are also new Smart Dash and Smart Dash Advanced interiors, which are available in different variants.
Additionally, the highly-anticipated dynamic loading and unloading feature is part of the 1.57 update. It won’t be available everywhere at the start, but it’s starting with the Nordic Horizons DLC before expanding to other depots on the base map, other DLC spots, and will eventually make it to a custom shipyard in Greece.
At the start, the feature will be rolled out for logging trailers. Players can learn more about the feature here.
Some of the other updates include HDR support and better cursor navigation, which was also just introduced in SCS Software’s other 1.57 update for American Truck Simulator. This also includes the company logo refresh.
The 1.57 update also added new customization options for paint jobs, giving players the power to pick any color from an RGB picker (or presets). They’ll also be able to adjust the trailer suspension height, which can make hooking up and delivering a haul better.
As if that’s not enough, there are several other improvements included in the 1.57 update. Players can read the entire list of what’s being changed here.
SCS Software also released a video detailing the 1.57 update for Euro Truck Simulator 2, which players can view below:
