Today, the Esports World Cup Foundation announced that it will be expanding its partner program and is now accepting applications for 10 new clubs. This expansion will allow the program to expand from 30 to 40 teams and boasts a $20 million investment, with each club receiving six-figure funding to help grow their brand.
Chief Product Officer Faisal bin Homran also spoke about the future of the program, stating, “Through this program, we enable partnered Clubs to attract fans with engaging content beyond the games, showcasing the personalities and talent of players, alongside their origin stories, while also developing their Clubs’ brands as fan-favorite powerhouses in esports entertainment.”
Preparation and qualifiers for the Esports World Cup 2025 event are currently underway. Players and teams are in the midst of competing in multiple qualifiers throughout specific global regions, featuring three formats: a knockout stage, a points rush, and a grand final.
The event will take place from June 2025 to August 2025 and will feature a $60 million prize pool, with each game offering $1,250,000, spread across 1st through 16th place. There are currently 10 titles announced:
- Honor of Kings
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
- Call of Duty Warzone
- Free Fire
- Street Fighter 6
- Rainbow Six Siege
- DOTA 2
- Counter-Strike 2
- PUBG Mobile
- Apex Legends
The next two games are set to be announced tomorrow at 9 AM EST. If the trend of returning titles continues for the next announcements, expect to see games like Overwatch 2, Tekken 8, Rocket League, EA Sports FC, Fortnite, StarCraft II, Teamfight Tactics, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. After tomorrow, there will be 12 more games yet to be announced.
Teams interested in enrolling in the Esports World Cup Foundation expansion program have until January 10, 2025.
