The Riot Games esports trio has been officially announced for the Esports World Cup 2025, meaning that League of Legends, Valorant, and Teamfight Tactics will be featured at the multi-game, international esports tournament.
The three games were announced at once, and they’re the next-to-last game announcements from the Esports World Cup 2025. The last two games will be announced at the same time in roughly three weeks.
League of Legends, Valorant, and Teamfight Tactics have a pretty massive esports scene outside of the Esports World Cup. League of Legends is widely considered one of, if not the, biggest esports in the world. It has routinely won awards in esports, including the recent Game of the Year award for Best Esports Game.
While Valorant and Teamfight Tactics have smaller esports scenes, they still have dedicated communities and fanbases.
This will be the first time that Valorant is included in the Esports World Cup. League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics have been featured in the past.
The trio of games is joining the likes of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Honor of Kings, Warzone, Street Fighter 6, DOTA 2, Counter-Strike 2, and even the newest esport, Chess.
It’s an exciting time for esports. While 2025 kicks off esport tournaments and events around the world in every game (including Valorant’s most recent VCT Kickoffs), there was also news about the first Olympic Esports Games, which will now happen in 2027 in Saudi Arabia.
In fact, the Esports World Cup Foundation (which organizes the Esports World Cup) will also be a founding partner for the Olympic Esports Games.
