Today, Electronic Arts showed off the first look at gameplay for this year’s iteration of its hit futbol series, EA Sports FC 26.
EA Sports FC 26 promises plenty of innovative new gameplay features, as they’ve overhauled the gameplay experience from last year’s installment. Mechanics have been tweaked, including dribbling responsiveness and fluidity, re-tuned run curves for more explosive player movement, all-new reinforcement-learning-driven goalkeeper positioning, close-body volumetric animations, and new, more versatile Playstyles and Player Roles.
Competitive Gameplay presest are also being added in, allowing online players to tailor their experince in FUT and Clubs like never before. My Manager Career will be getting a makeover, as they’ll get new scenarios that pop up throughout their career depending on how well or poorly they are doing managing the club.
A brand new feature called Archetypes is being introduced alongside EA Sports FC 26, allowing players to develop abilities by upgrading attributes and unlocking Archetype Perks to give your player a distinct feel on the pitch. New Live Events and Tournament Modes will also let you build your dream FUT squad and test them in new settings, making for a brand new way to play online.
Alongside plenty of gameplay, the developers revealed two brand new cover stars for EA Sports FC 26: Jude Bellingham and Jamal Musiala. The two young stars are also joined by Zlatan Ibrahimović, who will grace the game’s Ultimate Edition cover.
The game is set to be released on September 26, 2025, for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Amazon Luna, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2, and will also be available worldwide to play on with early access through the Ultimate Edition beginning September 19, 2025.
