Indie developer Terahard Studios, an England based studio that specializes in turn-based PvP and PvE fighting games that feature an RPG system, just unveiled the first trailer for their upcoming roguelike Dunebound Tactics.
Dunebound Tactics places players in charge of a sand ship, tasking them with embarking on a perilous adventure across the sandy dunes with the help of a mysterious substance called Elios. While you explore and gather more material to keep going, you’ll come across 40 different enemy types, requiring you to plan and engage them in strategic combat.
Amidst the turn-based action, you’ll be able to move around the area and plan your attacks by manipulating a fully destructible and battlefield. You’ll also be able to recruit new members to help you fight as you go, as the game features a roster of 15 distinct classes and 16 unique traits that enhance skills, stats, or add abilities.
Terahard Studios CEO Aris Tsevrenis spoke about their love for the strategy genre and how it influenced Dunebound Tactics: “We built our very own tactics engine with RPG elements from the ground up for Dunebound Tactics! I’m excited both for the technical innovations as well as the freedom we gave our game designers to create an amazing experience. The art in this game is the best we’ve managed so far connecting all the little details to squeeze performance and quality.”
While Dunebound Tactics doesn’t have an exact release date or window, it is currently taking part in the Roguelike Celebration on Steam, and can be found in the Procedural Generation category. The event runs from October 17, 2024 to October 23, 2024.
