In just its first 24 hours of release last October, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero sold a whopping 3 million units worldwide. Today, a few months later, Bandai Namco revealed that the first entry in the Budakai Tenkaichi series in over 15 years just crossed another impressive threshold, as it has now sold over 5 million copies worldwide.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero lets fans relive the stories and events of the anime and manga, all the way from the original Saiyan saga to the Buu saga and beyond, boasting an impressive roster of 182 characters, including Goku, Cooler, Andriod 17, and many more.

Recently, the game added to that impressive roster by releasing the “Hero of Justice” DLC pack. Based on the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie that was released back in 2022, the expansion features characters such as Gohan Beast, Cell Max, Gamma 1, and Gamma 2. Many players have been having a great time seeing Gohan Beast interact with characters outside of the movie, as his voice lines are considerably uncharacteristic compared to regular Gohan.

Gameplay consists of multiple modes, including online and co-op multiplayer, Episode Battle modes, and Custom Battles that let you create, play, and share UGC battles using a robust selection of available characters, stages, and unique items. Using the Unreal Engine 5, Dragon Ball: Sparking! boasts even more modernized, fluid combat than the original installments in the series and sees the return of destructible environments, featuring even more locations to explore and destroy in each arena.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam) starting at $69.99. For more information on this and plenty of other fighting games, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily for updates.
