Death Note Killer Within is coming to PS4, PS5, and PC (Steam) on November 5, 2024, following the same basic premise as the anime but in a multiplayer format. You and up to 10 players will join one of two teams. Depending on the team you’re on, you’ll either be tasked with identifying and killing world-renowned detective L or seize the Death Note from Kira.

Regardless of the team you’re on, the true identity of Kira and L are hidden. Only one player can assume the role of each, while everyone else will either be a Kira follower or an investigator.

From what we see in the trailer below, Death Note Killer Within will allow players to develop numerous strategies that must be applied depending on the randomized scenarios presented. There will also be a fair amount of customization options, as the game lets you create your nameplate, in-game avatars, and special effects displayed during key gameplay moments.

From a gameplay perspective, this new Bandai Namco game will be very similar to Among Us, featuring tasks, specific locations, and accusation/investigation periods. It is also important to note that Death Note Killer Within will be available as a part of the PS Plus monthly games lineup as soon as it releases.

Upon release, a Death Note Killer Within Special Edition will be available alongside the base version of the game. This will feature the base game, a Premium Customisation Track Vol. 1, and an Accessory Pack.
