DCS World Cleans Up Bugs With New Update

F-16 Viper in DCS World

Today Eagle Dynamics released a new update for its hardcore military flight simulator DCS World, numbered 2.9.6.58056.

The patch is mostly aimed to “clear up some nagging issues that were introduced in the last patch” and comes with changes to the base simulator, and a couple of aircraft by Eagle Dynamics itself.

Specifically, the F-16C Viper and the F/A-18C are getting a few tweaks, while you can also expect a touch-up to some of the campaigns available for the sim.

Below you can read the full patch notes.

If you’re unfamiliar with DCS World, it’s a flight simulator dedicated to military aircraft from World War 2 to the present day. It’s available only on PC (via Steam or Eagle Dynamics’ own store) and the base simulator is free-to-play.

That being said, keep in mind that fully enjoying it pretty much requires the purchase of additional modules, albeit Eagle Dynamic has a pretty solid trial and introductory discount program.

DCS World is known to be quite challenging for novices to flight simulation, and flying its more advanced aircraft requires extensive study. That being said, it can also be very rewarding.

If you’re new to flight simulation and you’re interested in starting out, look no further than our guide, which will bring you along on an ongoing weekly journey from the basics to the flight deck of advanced aircraft.
