Today, DCS World developer Eagle Dynamics made all the aircraft by third-party developer Razbam unavailable in its store, as the result of a dispute between the two companies that has been going on for over a year.

While the modules are still listed in the store, they’re marked as unavailable, with the only exception of the South Atlantic Map, which always appeared to be excluded from the dispute.

The products are still available on Steam at the moment of this writing, but Eagle Dynamocs already said that they’re going to be removed from there as well.

The company mentioned that the removal came as the result of an official request from Razbam, so while we don’t know the details, we do know that it’s not Eagle Dynamics’ initiative, which is not surprising considering that the modules have been available for sale for a year.

As a matter of fact it appears that ED wasn’t able to remove the products until Razbam requested it.

The developer of DCS World also pledged that the modules will still be supported and remain functional for those who purchased them.

Eagle Dynamics Associate Producer “NineLine” mentioned that the company still hopes for a good outcome as “the modules after all are great ones and loved by many.”

They also added that “there is a lot of conjecture out there and misinformation, this of course has created lots of speculation,” seemingly disputing the validity of said rumors.

In the meanwhile, Razbam also commented via its CEO Ron Zambrano, who mentioned that only Razbam itself can properly support, update, and develop its products. Zambrano also denied the speculation about possible IP infringement.

You can read the full statement below (sic).

“To Our Community of Users,

As our products are no longer available for purchase on current platforms, we believe it’s important to be clear: Only RAZBAM Simulations is able to properly support,
update, and develop our products.

Our development pipeline, including all source code, has never been – and will never be-released to any distributor or third party. This is by design, and it ensures we can protect the integrity of what we build and deliver the you.

We also want to reaffirm a core truth: Our developers are first-rate professionals. We operate with the highest standards of conconduct and have always respected the intellectual property of every partner, peer, and platform we’ve worked with.

We do not, and will not, infringe on IP of others – ever. Our reputation is built on trust, and we protect that reputation with the same care we apply to every line of code we write.

RAZBAM’s mission has always ben simple:
Build with precision. Serve with pride. Deliver with integrity.

We’re still here.
We’re still building
And we’re still fighting- for our team, for our rights, and

Thank you for your continued support and patience.

RAZBAM Simulations”

At this point, we don’t have further information, but we’ll keep you posted should the situation evolve.

If you’re unfamiliar with DCS World, it’s a free-to-play flight simulator focusing on military aviation from World War 2 to the present day. It’s available exclusively for PC on Eagle Dynamics’ own store and on Steam.

While the sim is free-to-play, it requires paid modules to be fully enjoyed, including aircraft, maps, and campaigns like this one.

Recently, Eagle Dynamics unveiled its plans for the implementation of the dynamic campaign and an Instant Action Generator. We also heard about a map focused on the Marianas during World War II and another portraying Germany during the Cold War.

The developer also provided a look at more content coming this year and beyond, including an F-15C Eagle and an F-35 Lightning II.
