Eagle Dynamics showcased its upcoming Instant Action Generator, which is in development to replace the old Instant Action feature in DCS World.
It’ll let players jump into quick flying and fighting action without having to create the missions themselves with the Mission Editor.
You’ll be able to select a variety of mission types with a click, including air-to-air, ground attacks, bomber escort and attack, anti-ship, wild weasel, and more.
The developers are currently working on sorting aircraft by historical eras, improving AI logic for a variety of skill levels, and allowing players to fine-tune loadouts and spawn points by using an interactive map.
The plan is for it to let novice players generate missions easily while offering room for experimentation for veterans. Of course, it’ll have limits and won’t be suitable for creating large and complex missions. That’s what learning the Mission Editor is for.
That being said, there’ll be quite a few interesting options like carrier operations, selection of allied and enemy units, and dynamic weather and time-of-day settings.
More updates on the tool’s development will be shared at a later date, but for now, you can check out two screenshots below.

If you’re unfamiliar with DCS World, it’s a free-to-play flight simulator focusing on military aviation from World War 2 to the present day. It’s available exclusively for PC on Eagle Dynamics’ own store and on Steam.
While the sim is free-to-play, it very much requires paid modules to be fully enjoyed, including aircraft, maps, and campaigns like this one.
Recently, Eagle Dynamics unveiled its plans for the implementation of the dynamic campaign and more. We also heard about another map focused on the Marianas during World War II, and another is coming portraying Germany during the Cold War.
The developer also provided a look at more content coming this year and beyond, including an F-15C Eagle and an F-35 Lightning II.
