Eagle Dynamics announced that a relevant military aircraft for DCS World is available for pre-order ahead of its early access release, the C-130J Hercules.
You can reserve your copy on Eagle Dynamics’ own store for $55.99. Do keep in mind that this won’t work for the Steam edition of the simulator.
When the aircraft is finally released, the price will go up to $79.99.
The aircraft is made by third-party developer Airplane Simulation Company and does not have a release date just yet.
The Hercules is basically synonymous with military transport, and it certainly comes with a different flavor compared to the usual fighters you get to pilot in DCS World.
For example, it’s piloted with a yoke instead of a stick. Albeit you don’t necessarily need the hardware, it’s certainly a different feeling if you have it.
While transport is the C-130’s main role, that doesn’t mean it can’t carry some offensive payload, as this aircraft can be loaded with a 22-ton “MOAB” bomb that can be dropped out of the ramp.

If you’re unfamiliar with DCS World, it’s a free-to-play flight simulator focusing on military aviation from World War 2 to the present day. It’s available exclusively for PC.
While the sim is free-to-play, it pretty much requires paid modules to be fully enjoyed, including aircraft, campaigns, and maps like this one.
Recently, Eagle Dynamics unveiled more of its plans for the implementation of the dynamic campaign, while the upcoming Mig-29A Fulcrum was also made available for pre-order.
The developer also provided a look at more content coming this year and beyond, including an F-15C Eagle and an F-35 Lightning II.
