Today, indie developer Reakktor Studios and publisher Senatis announced that their futuristic aerial combat sim G-Rebels will launch in 2025. The flight simulator is set to take place in the year 2684, allowing players to explore a dystopian open-world that is over 12k square kilometers.
G-Rebels features an intricate campaign where you’ll join part of an elite force fighting organized crime or take on side quests as a bounty hunter, racing pilot, bodyguard, mercenary, pirate, miner, or hunter for lost artifacts. These missions take place across various locations, including neon metropolises, remote outposts, advanced research facilities, and industrial factories.
Each player’s approach to combat will be different in G-Rebels, as you can upgrade your Skyblade ship with unique combinations, swapping out engines, weapons, shields, AI-controlled drones, multi-warhead missiles, or stealth devices to make your plane unlike any other around. Thanks to Unreal Engine-5, you’ll experience that action amidst several different weather conditions, with volumetric clouds, dynamic sun and moon positions with realistic day-night cycles
When talking about the game, Reakktor Studios Founder and Studio Lead Martin Schwiezer discussed the mission and combat structure: “With today’s technology, these locations can be made so lifelike and immersive. G-Rebels is a highly ambitious project with a massive open world to explore, loads of missions, combat variety, and tons of ways to upgrade and customize your Skyblade. We believe fans of action-packed flight sims and open-world exploration will love what G-Rebels offers when it launches next year!”
While it doesn’t have an exact release date yet, we know that G-Rebels will be available on Steam sometime in 2025. For more flight simulation news, be sure to search Simulation Daily.
