Today Paradox provided the first details about the next expansion of Crusader Kings 3, which will focus on nomadic rulers.
The video was provided earlier than usual so that players can see where the developers are going and provide feedback if they so wish, effectively getting a chance to influence development before the expansion is actually released.
Nomadic cultures will have their own government type and even a brand new currency simply called the “herd” which will basically serve as the measure of a ruler’s power.
The herd will also influence several important elements like army size and man-at-arms creation, relationships between lords and subjects, and more.
Of course, our nomadic rulers wouldn’t be nomadic if they did not migrate, and there will be mechanics to encourage them to move between locations either reaching a deal with the locals or displacing them.
We also get to see the iconic Yurt settlements, which nomad rulers will carry with them pretty much like adventurers do. Like an adventurerìs camp, it can b e upgraded and can receive several sub-buildings that serve a variety of purposes.
You can check out the whole video below and see if it gets you excited about playing a nomadic ruler.
If you’re unfamiliar with Crusader Kings 3, it’s a grand-strategy game with extremely compelling RPG elements, available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
That being said, it’s very likely that this expansion will come much earlier to PC, with console players having to wait several months longer, as it happened with previous DLC.
