Today, Pearl Abyss implemented patch 1.00.03 for its brand new hit open-world RPG, Crimson Desert. The patch comes in response to community feedback about the state of the game, which included many bug reports, crashes, and performance issues.
Some of the biggest issues being addressed is private storage and fast travel. Players can now access this in the initial temporary lodgings in Hernand and at the Howling Hill Camp, and there are a lot more Abyss Nexuses that have been added across Pywel to reduce travel times.
Controls have received a considerable overhaul, with responsiveness for character movement, jumping, and the interaction UI improved, and dedicated PC hotkeys for Inventory (I), Skills (K), Journal (J), and Map (M) added. Other balancing and combat adjustments include:
- Difficulty – Reduced the Health and Attack of specific enemies and bosses.
- Stamina & Parry – Reduced stamina consumption for blocking and Nature’s Grasp; increased stun gauge accumulation on bosses after successful parries.
- Earlier Progression – The Force Palm skill is now learned much earlier in the game.
A 120Hz mode has also been added as a toggle for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Despite these issues, Crimson Desert has already been a massive success. On the first day alone, it was revealed that the title had already surpassed 2 million copies sold worldwide.
Crimson Desert gained a lot of notoriety in the lead-up to release, as fans were excited about its boss battles, mounts, and the expansive world of Pywel, all of which you can see in a preview of the title at Gamescom 2025. The game follows a lone mercenary, Greymane Kliff, as he navigates both the stunning beauty and cutthroat dangers of Pywel. The war-torn continent is fully explorable, allowing players to complete quests, defeat dangerous enemies, and unlock powerful items in the hopes of finding fame and glory.
According to the developers, they plan to continue listening to fan feedback on issues and encourage everyone to report them on this site so they can continue implementing and supporting the RPG post-release. Pearl Abyss announced a partnership with Maingear to release a limited-edition Crimson Desert custom PC, though no details on its release have been made available at this time.
Crimson Desert is available now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, starting at a price point of $69.99. Be sure to check back to Simulation Daily for more updates, including upcoming patches and possible upcoming DLC or future content roadmap plays from Pearl Abyss.
