While not everyone got the chance to celebrate the first-ever in-person demo for the highly anticipated open-world action-adventure title Crimson Desert at Gamescom this week, developer Pearl Abyss was nice enough to provide a look at the content that people at the event will be playing. Specifically, three boss fight battles have been released in quick eight-minute videos, each of which details the unique fighting every enemy possesses in the game
For example, the Queen Stoneback looks like a piece of regular landscape that has come to life, using its large figure to overwhelm you with power and stomp attacks. Due to its size, you can mount and climb it to attack its weak points, just like you can in Dragon’s Dogma and Shadow of the Colossus.
The other two fights are against human characters, making the combat far more focused on close quarters, intimate attacks, parries, and dodges. You can check out the full videos for each fight right down at the bottom of the page.
For anyone who has yet to hear about it, the game puts players in the shoes of a lone mercenary as he navigates the stunning beauty and cutthroat dangers of Pywel, the war-torn continent where history will be written in blood. Crimson Desert will only be available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. While an exact release date hasn’t been revealed yet, a window of Q2 2025 has been stated.
