Today, Firaxis Games revealed the PC spec requirements for the latest installment in its hit 4x strategy series Civilization VII. The breakdown for minimum, recommended, and Ultra is pretty meat, as you’ll need to have an Intel Core i3-10100 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 CPU and Nvidia GTX 1050, AMD RX 460, or Intel Arc A380 GPU in order to play even on the lowest presets.
You can see a full breakdown of the requirements for each at the bottom of the screen.
Previously announced back in February 2023, Civilization VII is set to be released on February 11, 2025, for PC, macOS, Linux, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. In the title, you’ll once again oversee the growth of human civilization from early settlements to an advanced culture, managing everything in between.
Some key differences in Civilization VII include the ability to select even more leaders and civilizations to grow and give certain attributes to. The criteria are much less strict regarding who can become a leader, as now philosophers, religious leaders, and scientists can also join heads of state.
These are just a handful of changes coming in the sequel, which will be the 14th game in the Sid Meier series (including expansion packs and spin-off titles) since its original release in 1991. Civilization has been credited by many as one of the founding fathers of modern strategy and 4x games, serving as the building block on which titles like Stellaris, Crusader Kings, and Total War based their gameplay.
