Today, ViewApp and Aerosoft have added a free update to their realistic city driving simulator, CityDriver. The patch is available for every platform the game has been released on, featuring several new improvements and gameplay mechanics.
First and foremost, performance has been significantly improved thanks to the update to a new version of Unreal Engine 5. Now, anyone who could play on the medium graphics settings will likely be able to play on higher settings, especially on console. Lighting and foliage received considerable enhancements, making trees and brush appear far more realistic as a result.
CityDriver’s new Day and Night cycle will offer a variety of scenic backdrops and locales to explore at all times of the day, allowing you to take in picturesque sunsets and tackle the challenge of navigating the city’s dark alleys. You’ll be happy to hear that mission progress will now be saved, meaning players can complete all missions with top ratings and surpass their respective high scores.

Another important gameplay element that the new free patch tweaks revolves around AI and NPC vehicles. Previously, vehicles would be all over the road, ignoring rules and causing crashes. Not only do they follow traffic rules much better, but collisions also no longer will spin your vehicle out as easily, thanks to the physics optimization introduced in the update.
Last but not least, the developers used the feedback provided by players to fix several consistent bugs and potential crashes. To see more on the update, you can head to the official Steam post here.
CityDriver is currently available on PS5, Android, PC, and Xbox Series X|S for $29.99.
