According to the documents provided by the company, net sales were 81,152 million yen (up 43.9% year-on-year), and operating profit was 39,333 million yen (up 89.8% year-on-year).

The publisher also says it’s on track to achieve its ambitious earnings forecast, expecting 190 billion yen in sales and 73 billion yen in operating profit, which would be significantly above the previous fiscal year and crown a basically uninterrupted decade of growth.

For the Digital Contents businesses, which is how Capcom calls its video game-related operations, net sales were 49,852 million yen (up 25.3% year-on-year) and operating profit was 31,378 million yen (up 52.0% year-on-year).

Capcom sold 23.85 million units of games, above the 20.02 million units sold in the first half of the previous fiscal year.

This was achieved without big AAA releases, since the company only launched Capcom Fighting Collection 2 and Onimusha 2, on top of the Nintendo Switch 2 versions of Street Fighter 6 and Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess.

The vast majority of the sales were from the ever-strong catalog (titles released before the period discussed), 22.85 million units, which also exceeded the 18.95 million units shipped in the same period of the previous fiscal year.

According to the company, excitement for Resident Evil Requiem drove sales of Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 4, while Devil May Cry 5 performed strongly due to sales celebrating the release of the animation. Unit sales of Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter Wilds also continued to grow.

If you’d like to compare these results with historical data, you can read our report about the previous quarter, based on data released in July.

Other gaming companies have already announced their financial results this quarter, including Koei Tecmo and Electronic Arts. You can expect plenty more reports on this topic in the coming days and weeks.
