The last sneak peek at Gearbox’s upcoming foray onto the silver screen finally arrived. The latest and final trailer for the movie adaptation of the first-person action RPG series Borderlands has its cast take center stage, giving fans an idea of what they can expect from the live-action take of their favorite characters.
Borderlands stars Cate Blanchett (Lilith), Kevin Hart (Roland), Jack Black (Claptrap), Edgar Ramírez (Atlas), Ariana Greenblatt (Tiny Tina), Florian Munteanu (Krieg), Gina Gershon (Mad Moxxi), and Jamie Lee Curtis (Tannis). It is directed by Eli Roth and follows the story of a treasure hunter who reluctantly returns to Pandora to find a missing girl.
It wouldn’t be a true adventure if everything went right, though, as our hero is joined by a ragtag group of characters who must band together to help decide the fate of the universe. This includes a potty-mouth robot, a muscle-bound maniac, and a demonic little girl who loves her demolitions.
Along the way, they’ll battle plenty of dangerous alien monsters and bandits, featuring plenty of easter eggs and references to the games they are based on hidden throughout. Borderlands is set to release US and UK theaters on August 9, 2024.
