Book Bound, the Super-Cute Shop Simulation Game, Releases Today

Bit66 released Book Bound today, a simulation game that lets cozy book lovers run their own book store.

Book Bound lets players experience running a book store in a cute, pixel fashion. From the start, players will need to order their inventory, getting a range of genres to entice every reader possible. The genres include SciFi, Fantasy, Romance, Thriller, and Non-Fiction. As each day passes, players will be able to unlock more books to sell.

Customers will want specific books, and they’ll occasionally ask the player for help finding them. Players can also advertise their bookstore, talking to people outside the shop and playing a quick minigame to convince them to check the store out.

Decorating is another important part of the game. Many of the decorations have themes to them that match the genres. As players sell more books and become more successful, they’ll be able to buy more and better decorations.

As if that’s not enough, players will be able to write their own book. They can explore the areas around the shop, gathering inspiration from things like nature. Players can name their book and decorate the cover, selling it once they’ve finished. They can even title the chapters in the book.

Book Bound is only available on PC, and there are no known plans to bring it to other platforms. This is the first game from the solo developer, Bit66.
