Today Blizzard Entertainment announced that its popular convention BlizzCon will return, albeit the wait is going to be quite long.
The next edition will be in late 2026, between Saturday, September 12, and Sunday, September 13, at the Anaheim Convention Center in California.
According to the announcement, the event will feature “BlizzCon staples like Opening Ceremony, in-depth panels, the Darkmoon Faire, friendly competition, hands-on gameplay, and more,” but Blizzard is also aiming to “meaningfully elevate” it and “create an unforgettable experience.”
As to what that means, your guess is as good as mine. The programming has not been announced and tickets are not for sale just yet. We don’t know their pricing or when they’ll be made available.
One thing is for sure: BlizzCon has always been the occasion in which Blizzard has made some of its biggest announcements, including World of Warcraft expansions and fully new games.
The latest edition was hosted in November 2023 and it featured a concert starring the K-Pop group Le Sserafim.
Among the announcements, we saw the reveal of the Worldsoul Saga trilogy of expansions for World of Warcraft (which started with The War Within), the first tease of the Diablo 4 expansion Vessel of Hatred, a few bits and bobs for Overwatch 2, and more.
