Today, Game Science revealed the next patch for their hit action RPG, Black Myth: Wukong. Patch 1.0.9.15179 aims to implement a handful of quality-of-life changes. These include bug fixes for everything from situations where your character gets stuck to solving various crashes that occur under unique conditions.
You’ll also notice small balancing updates in patch 1.0.9.15179, including increasing the Spikeshaft Staff’s maximum mana by 30. The patch will be approximately 1.7GB, but you’ll need around 92GB of free disk space for temporary storage of the update files.
If you’ve modded Black Myth: Wukong at all, it is important to note that installing update 1.0.9.15179 could cause compatibility issues, leading to crashing or broken mods. It is recommended that you uninstall mods and verify the integrity of the game files before restarting the game.
Heavily inspired by the Chinese novel Journey to the West, Black Myth: Wukong places players in the shoes of an anthropomorphic being known as the Destined One – also heavily based on Sun Wukong from the novel mentioned above by Wu Cheng’en. Using a combination of unique abilities and weapons, you must venture forth amidst an unknown world, full of mythical monsters and marvels, in order to uncover the truth that is hiding behind the veil.
While it has only been out for a month, Black Myth: Wukong is already a massive success, helping Steam break the concurrent player record with over 37 million players upon its release. In just its first two weeks, the action RPG sold 18 million units within two weeks, making it one of the fastest-selling games of all time.
