With the highly anticipated action RPG Black Myth: Wukong releasing in two days, it’s time to start downloading it if you have pre-purchased the game.
Today Game Science made it available for pre-download on both PS5 and PC, meaning you can get the package on your storage drives regardless of platform to be ready and start playing exactly when the game launches at 10:00 a.m. China Standard Time
If you’re wondering what time that is in your country, Game Science published a handy map yesterday.
One thing is for sure, the pre-download screen published by the developer is pretty funny, as you can see below.
If you’re unfamiliar with Black Myth: Wukong, it’s an action RPG developed by Shenzhen-based Chinese developer Game Science.
While some define it a Souls-like because it’s trendy, it’s more akin to a hack-and-slash action RPG as it really doesn’t have a Souls-like extreme difficulty curve.
It has been in development for about six years first in Unreal Engine 4 and then ported to Unreal Engine 5, but it was unveiled to the world only in 2020 with a trailer that quickly caught the attention of gamers worldwide.
It’s based on the traditional Chinese classic Journey to the West, featuring many characters inspired by Chinese folklore and tales.
One thing is for sure: it’ll be very interesting to see whether it lives up to the massive hype it generated, and we’ll know more when it releases on August 20 for PC and PS5. Incidentally, an Xbox Series X|S version is also planned, but it’ll come down the line, with no launch date announced so far.
